Aligarh Muslim University Malappuram Centre (AMUMC)  is located on the hills of Chelemala, closest to Cherukara village, near town Perintalmanna of Malappuram district in the Indian state of Kerala. Its objective is to provide high quality education to the students belonging to Kerala as well as other parts of India.

Other branches of AMU are located in Kishanganj (Bihar) and Murshidabad (West Bengal).

Aligarh Muslim University Malappuram Centre was established by A.M.U. in 2010 empowered by Section 5(2)(C) of the A.M.U. (Amendment) Act,1981 and under Section 12(2) of the University Act. [Act XL 1920 and A.M.U. (Amendment) Act,1972] .

The classes of the first batch were started on 28.02.2011 in a rented building (Al-Hazmi building, Pattambi Road) at Perinthalmanna. The Centre, from its inception offers two academic programmes viz. B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) and M.B.A and then added one more course i.e. B.Ed.. The functioning of the Centre has been re-located to the Semi-permanent buildings and a permanent building already constructed in its own spacious 336 Acres Campus.

Currently AMU Malappuram Centre offers three courses mentioned above but many other courses may get added.

About hostel facilities being offered:

There are 5 blocks in the boys hostel (from Block-1 to Block-5), containing multiple rooms of 3-person capacity and an annex in which  many boys live together. The annex was recently created out of the old Administrative block as to fulfill the high demand of  student intake.

There are 3 blocks in the girls hostel with a recent addition of an annex which was earlier the girls reading hall. The girls hostel is secured by a high wall with fences and security guards. also a new permanent hostel building is recently being proposed to increase the capacity of hostelers.
