From Values to Machines

Once upon a time 'education' was looked upon as a way of changing people into a good human being. Education in those times were highly based on values along with other fields of knowledge being provided. India was a country where students from foreign countries used to come and study here. The education was so good and so enriched with values.

With the passage of time the values in the "education" completely faded away. One should not blame the cut-throat competition for this. It is us who had created it. Today's 'education' is completely different. Education now had become lifeless. Its just now like a barter system. Now it is given not for the purpose of transforming you into good human being but for turning you into an output giving machine. The funny part is the more you are able to pay to these educational institutes the better the machine you become.

The idea of getting a job and turning into a ruthless and cruel human being had been so well chipped in our mind that we hardly worry whether we are gaining or loosing anything from the current so called ''digital education'' being provided. The sense of values have died so long ago that irrespective of whether we are able to learn anything from it or not we hardly care. In the end the idea of getting a degree easily is what we all care about. A degree is the sole most important thing now. The weird part is that these so called "educational institutions" are not being judged on the values they provide but for the placements, infrastructure etc. which should have been secondary. These educational institution simply do not want us to be a good human being. If they had been then they would have placed greater emphasis on values rather than anything else. These institutions are not even speaking in such a worsen situation of our country.

Today my country is going through one of its toughest times. The education system instead of coming out with better humanitarian measures came out with such horrendous measures. The thing that is most astonishing is that extremely qualified people are there in the education system of our country except the ministries who frame such pathetic measures for the other students.

I believe that the need for an hour calls for a "zero session". A "zero session" where students will be taught to be good human beings, inculcating good values in them right from junior schools to students of higher studies. This session will be for evaporating the idea of "turning into a machine" into turning a person of "good life and values". The need of the hour is this, instead of providing few fortunates the so called "digital education" that suffers from all kinds of barriers.

Let's turn in the our country into better place to live in as this cloud of sorrow gets over. Lets revive the 'education' as something that not only provides knowledge but also great values and turn us into great human beings.

Degrees are mere papers. It's your values that defines you.
